2019 AGM Update

Update from the AGM

Thank you to all members who participated in the recent AGM and persevered through extensive discussions to come to an informed decision on the matter of short term rentals in our community.

All three of the Special Resolutions proposed to the membership were passed and the Members Proposal to allow short term rentals was rejected, all by wide margins at the meeting.

As a result, the 30 day transition period was initiated as of the AGM date and short term rentals will no longer be allowed after June 18, 2019.

The only form of rentals that will be allowed going forward, subject to CRCA Board approval and compliance with the new Bylaw requirements, are qualifying leases of 12 month duration. The full text of the updated Bylaws, incorporating the changes from the approved resolutions, has been filed with BC Registries and is now available in the Members section of the website. For long term leases that were already in place as of May 18, 2019, members are encouraged to contact the Board to seek approval as per the Bylaws.
