Columbia Ridge News

If you saw the fire trucks on upper Columbia Ridge Road on April 2nd, you likely saw the grass fire on the empty lots also.

The cause of this fire is unknown at this time.

To help prevent further threat to our homes, the Fairmont Fire Chief recommended a prescribed burn of long grasses on vacant lots.

The owners of two vacant lots on Columbia Ridge and Cedar Bay are planning to do a prescribed burn on Thursday, April 11th, at 10:00 am WEATHER PERMITTING. But they can't do it without your help. Several volunteers are needed to help supervise the burn and attend to hoses and shovels.

The Fairmont Fire Dept will be advised of the burn prior to undertaking it.

Please let us know if you are able to join us April 11th to help out.
